A Boy and His Blob

A Boy and His Blob for the NES was released in 1989 and developed by Imagineering. It follows the story of an unnamed boy and his pet blob, who troubled by the news that the latter's home planet have been taken over by an evil emperor, decide to commit suicide.

IGN gave the Virtual Console release of the game a 4.5 noting poor execution, frustrating difficulty, and called it an overall inferior game to its Wii counterpart (Which was released 20 years later in 2009).
